I’m surprised we don’t have a thread on this! Michael Jackson was yet another musician who truly pushed the envelope when it came to entertainment and pop music. Putting aside all of the negative spotlight, he truly was one of the top entertainers of our generations. Watch any of his early youtube clips while he was in the Jackson Five–you can’t help but say, “wow, this kid will grow up to be something big.” While his personal life probably didn’t reach the heights it could have had me made decisions a little differently, there’s no doubt in my mind that his success as a musician truly represented the astounding ability behind his mask.

I remember dancing a really silly dance involving kicking your legs out front while keeping them straight to “All the Little Birdies on Jaybird Street” when I was in middle school. Then in the 80s I think of Thriller as a family album. I agree Marshall– he was a genius. He went through his different stages but he was always there - to me his death is much bigger than any other celebrity death.
Mom and I spent much of Friday night watching MJ videos on YouTube. Evan and his friends were watching MJ videos yesterday. He was one of the top entertainers of all time.
