John Edwards: What the…?! by Evan on July 30, 2008 at 9:15 am

Let’s face it, folks.  The story is true.  John Edwards has not denied it or even threatened any legal action.  Foxnews has independently confirmed the story with a security guard who was present…and yet the mainstream media continues to ignore the growing scandal.

What does everyone think?  Is the media rightly staying away from the personal business of someone who is no longer a candidate? Or are they not doing their job?

traumatic blogmother experience by jenny on July 29, 2008 at 9:03 pm

I went to upgrade the blog and I don’t feel like going into details, but it was a terrible failure.  I’m now recovering things, and thank goodness the blog wasn’t lost.  But for a while there might be images not there and things not as they were, including the comment order, which is always the one thing I have to do by hand in an upgrade.  But I’m doing the best I can.

Happy Birthday Jenny by suzys on July 27, 2008 at 11:07 am

For your birthday, the Democrats will win big this time around. And there will be no tornadoes in Princeton.

Legally Blonde by Marshall on July 26, 2008 at 1:57 pm

I found videos of the play online. I’m pretty sure it’s the woman who used to play Elle Woods (and the male leads are different as well). Judging from the little bit I’ve watched, I think her voice is way, way better. As are the guys, but that doesn’t say much.

Aside from that, I loved it!

Here’s the videos:

Batman by Marshall on July 20, 2008 at 11:06 pm

Susan, Arastu, Eric and I saw the new Batman movie today. We got there 40 minutes early but we still had to sit alone. Talk about popularity.

The movie itself was fantastic, with great action, plot, acting, emotional content, and camera work. But even though everything was so awesome, the movie was totally dominated by Heath Ledger’s unbelievable performance as the Joker. He was so insane, crazy, and evil but still believable that I still can’t get it out of my head. I’m sure Susan and Arastu will agree with me. Everybody should go see this movie.

The other actors should get mention for stellar performances as well. I’ve always loved Aaron Eckhardt after seeing him in Thank You For Smoking, and Christian Bale is great as usual, as is Michael Cain and Morgan Freeman. Maggie Gyllenhal’s character was pretty boring, but I guess she did an ok job.

the xkcd candidate by Susan on July 18, 2008 at 10:27 am

Has everyone seen this?  A guy running for state rep in Kansas decided to make a comic strip and try to get 3,000 people to donate $8.34 each.  He says that the comic strip is “xkcd homage style.”  So far, over 4,000 people have donated.

Another “3am” video by Aunt Julie on July 16, 2008 at 5:39 am

I don’t think I ever saw the first one, but this version is funny on its own:  “It’s 3am, and John McCain needs to read an e-mail.”

25 Years of Daily Newspaper Delivery Ends for the Crumillers by jenny on July 15, 2008 at 7:17 am

I just canceled our home delivery to the New York Times so now we’ll have NO daily newspapers delivered.  We’re biting the bullet and going online and also the New York Times reader.  Our other newspaper delivery service that delivered the Trenton paper stopped delivering to our street, so we took that little step a month or so ago to get rid of one paper.  Even though I like reading the paper newspaper, we decided the benefits will outweigh the negatives in terms of the keeping our house clean, the environment, and the hassle of recycling.

We’ll still get our weekly and bi-weekly local newspapers (for now).

Ask Auntie Sue by Susan on July 10, 2008 at 11:56 pm

Dexie and Tash used to share a large food bowl all the time with no problems.  Tash was a little bit of a hog, but we thought it was just cute because he’s so obviously the little one.

Sometime during their stay at the Crumiller house (at least that’s the first time this behavior was observed), Tash started blatantly butting Dexie out of the way to prevent him from eating.  When Dexie would go to the other side of the bowl to eat, Tash would follow him again!

When we got back to Philly we set up two food bowls and set them up 2-3 feet apart.  Yet the pattern persists- they’ll be eating at separate bowls, when Tash will go all the way over to knock Dexie out of his bowl.  Dexie goes to the other bowl, and Tash goes back again to steal Dexie’s food.  Both bowls are clearly full.

Why did Tash start doing this and what can we do about it?  Discipline has failed so far.

This one reminds me of the “hugs” video from about a year ago, but I think this one is even better.

When we invited Barack to our family vacation, we didn’t expect him to actually show up!
