I’m in LAX waiting for my flight home after an exhausting few days on the road. I was surprised to see that Romney suspended his campaign, but my predictions have fallen by the wayside one by one, so I still have a perfect track record for this election.
Sure, Obama bought ads–but he’s a man!! It’s CHARMING when he breaks the rules! However, it is totally unbecoming of a lady.
(In reality, neither of them bought ads, or were allowed to hold any rallies. However, they were allowed to hold fundraisers, which all of them did. Once Hillary lost South Carolina, she started to talk about Florida and how the vote mattered. I think she would have won Florida anyway, so the fact that there are no delegates helps Obama.)
But Hillary didn’t campaign in Florida — she followed the rules - unless there’s something I’m missing I don’t understand this accusation. In fact I thought Obama had bought television ads there.
I heard that Hillary played dirty pool by winning FL because they were not supposed to “play” there. This adds to her reputation as a candidate willing to do anything in order to win. (This was a topic on the Jim Lehrer Report last night.)
Florida can appeal. I think there is a decent chance that Florida’s delegates will eventually win back the right to vote, at which point Senator Clinton will pick up a *lot* of delegates.
In the recent book White King and Red Queen, the British author Daniel Johnson said the match was “an abstract antagonism on an abstract battleground using abstract weapons … yet their struggle embraced all human life.”
“In Spassky’s submission to his fate and Fischer’s fierce exultant triumph, the Cold War’s denouement was already foreshadowed.”
I found my dream come true — a calendar of a whole year without spaces between the weeks of the calendar. It makes it easier to calculate how many weeks until a certain date, or if you’re doing something every two weeks or whatever. Here’s the site to make one: http://www.pdfcalendar.com/12-weeks/
Ok this will either have totally disappeared or will be exploding by the time everyone wakes up, but right now the internet is abuzz with rumors of a MAJOR scandal for John Edwards.
Another hoax at Princeton like the one at your school, Evvie. This article is pretty in depth from the PU daily paper website, and mentions the GW case. This is another interesting blog post, written before they knew but after they suspected it was a hoax — it’s pretty amazing how well they handled it.
That reminds me of when I was at a surrogate debate in DC last month. It was super boring as all the surrogates droned their answers about policy, until a person from the Humane Society asked them who the Humane Society should endorse. It was funny but painful, because the audience clearly was longing for them to just say “I can’t speak for my candidate” and nothing else, but some of them couldn’t help taking about their own pets. But the Kucinich candidate got laughs and applause since Kucinich is a vegan he had the moral high ground. But I think Clinton would be smart to go after the pet owner vote! She should run with it– I haven’t seen other candidates try it yet.
Heartfelt promise or cynical attempt to gain support of pro-Tedder voters? You decide!
“Campaigning in New Hampshire on Saturday, Senator Hillary Clinton petted a young child’s dog, and declared: ‘I will make a great president for dogs.’”

Check out this awesome gigapixel supernnova picture (don’t worry, it doesn’t load the whole picture at once). It’s crazy to zoom in all the way and see how many stars you can see…and then realize that this entire picture is only an infinitesimally small fraction of the night sky.
ahh, I’ll never do annoying things like that - I’ll never stop being a cool mom. I just posted the link because a friend requested it and it was too hard to describe finding it in “breaking news archive.”
Actually it was a quote about me in Lev Alburt’s article. At the end of the article, Lev wrote “I also like to thank my friend Jon Crumiller for his help with this game. Jon loves rook endings and understands them as a true grandmaster.” Needless to say, I’m very appreciative of Lev’s remarks!

Also, Obama just raised 7.2 million in 36 hours, while Hillary’s top staffers are working without pay.
Romney Drops Out!

Having known Tedder, we all know about Hero Dogs. But here are some Hero People!

I think the stunning upset pulled off by the New York Giants will spur people to believe again!! Then they will vote for Obama on Super Tuesday.
Here’s a pretty funny survey:

It’s funny because of how realistic the number that comes out is.
Here’s an interesting article by Sean Wilentz, a Princeton history professor and Clinton supporter, about comparing Obama to JFK, Lincoln etc.

P.S. Edwards to drop out of race today! (without immediately endorsing another candidate.)

Yeah but the DNC took away Florida’s delegates for moving their primary too early so I don’t think this really counts.
It looks like Hillary blew away Obama in Florida!
It’s great! I really do feel like no matter who wins we’re in super great shape.
If you’re for Obama OR Clinton you can be happy to see this:

Well, he was an anti-semitic wacko, but he was probably really good at chess. Maybe Dad could clarify what the deal with this guy was.

Here’s a funny video about Bill Gates retiring. Thanks Aunt Julie!

Here is the story — whether it is really true remains to be seen. Super interesting how the msm isn’t picking up on it.

Here are pictures from our straw poll.

Hillary should have said to the dog, “I will be your super protectress!”

Wow, that is definitely awesome, thanks Marsh

Great, Mom, we get it. Instead of newspaper clippings, you’ll be sending us generational comedy video clips for the rest of our lives.
Funny video again
Jon is a rook star.

Dad is quoted in Chess Life Magazine:
The quote is near the end of the article,”Back to Basics: Draw on Demand.”
