Wordpress, the program I used to make this site has had a major new release and I have to upgrade it. The problem is I’ve changed so many things and added things to customize it that this is going to be a big job. But if I don’t upgrade, this version will become obsolete and if it breaks we will lose the whole blog. So be prepared for weirdness while I’m doing it.
For example, the standard wordpress blog does not have the unread comments feature, which every has made clear is indispensable. However the unread comments is a little program someone made on their own and that person might not have upgraded it so it might not work.
another thing that isn’t standard is the comments being sorted by recent comments at the top — that is always a pain to change because I forget how I did it between upgrades.

How about a downgrade?
The comments aren’t left-justified Susan? They are on my computer, let me know.
Maybe it’s just force of habit, but I think I prefer the left-justified comments.
OK, I fixed the comments to a new format but let me know if you have opinions about what it says, like “Evan’s comment” or should it say “Evan writes” on the top of the comment.
What happened is I upgraded the wordrpress software, but the customized part I didn’t upgrade, so there might be things that could be improved that aren’t. So, for instance, I just upgraded the new comments page but when I did it I had to figure out how to make it look right, change the language and stuff like that.
Can we customize every little feature to our individual whims? If not, forget it.
for some reason the order of comments has been reversed. is this something we can each individually change or is it a by-product of the all new upgrade?
it looks totally the same to me.
OK, I did it, it’s a miracle, but the “write post” form has changed and probably other things.
