This line may be easy to train as a rule, but Mr. Tedder never has to live by the rules!
It is the Guide Dog Foundation in Rochester, NY, on Jericho Turnpike actually. I will think of more Tedder facts as I ramble along. I am really proud of his “line” They live a long time and are easy to train, as a rule. Beechnut, our dog, is Tedder’s half sister (same mother as Tedder). She’s 11 and still really energetic. We should all age so well . . .
!!! I never knew any of this about Tedder!!!! (although i think he mentioned his brother in the city once or twice.) Any more interesting Tedderfacts(tm) are greatly appreciated!
Tedder has (had?) a brother who is a guide dog in NYC with a young woman. The Guide Dog Foundation in Jericho, NY raised and placed him. I imagine that dog is retired and maybe even has his own guide dog by now.
Yes, they called him Divver. All of Tedder’s ancestors are champions except one black sheep great grandmother. Also, he was a test tube puppy–my first chilled-semen attempt. 11 puppies! Mom (Darlyne) went to the airport for the package for me; one of the great acts of motherhood (or fatherhood as it were.) Tedder’s mother is my all time favorite dog. She was beautiful and smart–like all the women in our family
!!! wow! They look a lot like Tedder. and it looks from that family chart like he comes from quite a distinguished line (although that much was obvious merely by observing his regal bearing and demeanor.) Was his dad’s name Skydiver?
