Well it turned out to be true, there was indeed ‘yellow cake’ from Niger, according to the story on this news website.
It is Jenny’s/Mom’s birthday today.

Dear Red States…
We’ve decided we’re leaving. We intend to form our own country, and
we’re taking the other Blue States with us.

There’s some really cool videos here of people messing with water in zero gravity (in outer space).

Hey, does everyone like my new boots?
the formatting got totally messed up somehow so I had to switch to the regular generic theme. I’ll fix it soon but not tonight
Hey, does everyone like my new shoes?
So, Congress is trying to pass this bill that would shield journalists from having to reveal their sources, although it looks like there are exceptions. I admit, I’m starting to come around to Dad’s view that maybe this would enable evil retaliators like KR to get away more easily. The thing is, there are so many other avenues for investigation, that I still think the fear of being caught would act as a sufficient deterrent. What does everyone else think? The Justice Department is, naturally, lobbying against it. In supporting an earlier point that Evvie and I were making, the article does point out that
“Norman Pearlstine, editor in chief of Time Inc., said in his testimony that his decision to obey the courts and hand over Mr. Cooper’s notes and documents to the special prosecutor - which he said he did reluctantly after fighting the edict all the way to the Supreme Court - has already resulted in several valuable confidential sources refusing to cooperate again with Time magazine.”
I turned on an option where the author of the post gets emailed when there is a comment to his or her post — I think — did you get emails saying I posted [question mark -- my keyboard is stuck]
OK, I can’t help it. This is just the most incredible Miss Manners column ever. Read on to acquaint yourself with THE MOST STUPID AND INCONSIDERATE PERSON EVER. Her letter:
I’m putting a couple mp3s up because I think they’re cool and people should listen to them:
Pat Metheny Group - The Awakening.mp3 - Mom heard this once and said it was really cool, and it is. It’s really cool how halfway through he modulates to a different key and then at the end comes back to it. It almost sounds Irish with bagpipes in it, but it’s a really cool tune.
Pain of Salvation - Used.mp3 - My new favorite band. It’s the one progressive-rock band I know now that actually has a lot of soul. I love the second half of this song how it keeps spiraling upwards. The singer is unbelievable–he has something like a 5 octave range, you can hear it a bit on here. He can sing high and not sound stupid.
Jeff Buckley - Forget Her.mp3 - Jeff Buckley has a totally awesome voice. This is a track from his bonus disc that removed from his album ‘Grace,’ but I think he should have left it on because this song rules.
Pat Metheny Trio - Travels.mp3 We’ll be seeing Pat Metheny with his Trio on November 4th, this is a good taste. A lot more rests of Pat’s shoulders because he’s responsible usually for both melody and accompaniment. You can see here how awesome he is at playing the tune with filling in chords and stuff in the background too at the same time. Total control and perfect execution.
