Marshall’s friend couldn’t come on Saturday, so I’m bringing Shannon and Arastu.
I’m in the process of looking for a good restaurant nearby, but I’m not sure about how pricey you want. But I’ll just email you [Mom & Dad] on this. Also, are you driving or taking the train? B/c we could go somewhere right near the concert, or somewhere else.
Can you give quick feedback about the size of the font? The style was a percentage, and I made it a fixed size because it looked super small when I looked on my desktop. But now it looks big to me.
Lots of fun stuff. Some of it is dumb, but some is cool, like the two-headed woman and the optical illusion on http://mindbluff.com/oddbody.htm. (on 3rd pop-down menu on homepage)

I’d be interested to know about trips to other countries. Here is a recap of my recent brief trip to Madrid.
I took one of those overnight flights — it departed Philly at 8:15 p.m., arriving in Madrid at 10:00 a.m. , which is really 4:00 a.m. EST. Unfortunately the guy in the seat next to me wasn’t very sleepy, and he wanted to make sure that I understood every detail about his life. But I have trouble sleeping on planes anyway. Upon arriving, I went to the hotel and showered, dressed, then went to my first business meeting of the day. (more…)
This is Grampa’s nephew, my second cousin (is that right Aunt Julie and Gramma?). He sent this to Gramma and Aunt Julie among other people.

Hi to all, I guess by now you have seen the news about Bemidji, and
the Red Lake Indian Reservation. I got involved at 3:30pm on Monday
after receiving the page from our Law Enforcement Dispatch center asking
for help. The reason for my getting a page is I run the Emergency
Communication Trailer for the County as a volunteer and I’m also a
volunteer for the city as a member of the Citizen Patrol.
It is now Thursday, 3-24-05 at 5:30pm and I’m still involved. I’m
sitting in the hospital lounge area using the wire less internet and my
lap top to send this email, as I have to be here until 8PM.
This Saturday I will be taking our County Communication trailer up to
Red Lake for the funerals services and when that is over I should be
done. I will send an email about this and how the press acted in a later
email. This is not a happy town right now. I did see one thing that
knocked my shock off, during an Indian prayer service on Tuesday at
noon, here on the hospital grounds, the Indian giving the prayer service
said that an eagle would fly over head to help the healing process and
shortly after the service started that is exactly what happened. I could
not believe my eyes. You tell me how this could be. More later when I
have a chance to catch up on things.

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday, dear Susan, Happy Birthday to you!
23 years ago this morning came the prettiest baby ever. I hope you have a great birthday with lots of fun.
Since we haven’t discussed West Wing for a while, there might be new things to say. Did Marshall finish watching the third season?
We got a new toaster, since the other one finally broke after a long period of under-performance. The new one only has one long slot, rather than two long slots. It seems like a good one. It’s a Braun.
To take responsibility for the upkeep of the new toaster I took the time to read the directions for the sake of all of us.
I hope our family will follow the manufacturer’s recommended procedure for interrupting the toasting cycle by using the “stop” button rather than forcing the toast up using the lever for lowering the toast into the toaster.
Rather than tell you about my New Orleans trip, I decided to comb the menus online of restaurants we went to and copy some of the best dishes I ate. This pretty much sums up the trip. A few additional facts:
- The weather was perfect while we were there, mid-to-high 70s during the day, low-to-mid 70s at night.
- We saw the St Patricks Day parade, which was really fun. They basically use recycled Mardi Gras floats, and in addition to throwing beads, they throw heads of cabbage, potatoes, carrot sticks, and plastic 4-leaf clovers. We also caught a bar of “Irish Springs” soap, and an American flag nerf football.
- We heard great live music every night and walked all over the city during the day. My favorite things about New Orleans are probably the architecture and the vegetation.
Not to be morbid on this site, but I wanted to publicly and unequivocally state that, if I am in a horrible accident, I would rather be dead than a vegetable for the rest of my life. (Just wanted to get that out of the way.)
Coming soon: a post on New Orleans and jury duty. (I didn’t get picked.)
Dougie in paper
TimesDispatch.com | Kaine kicks off campaign
In the paper version, Dougie figures prominently in the photo.
Maggie, how are you? What are you doing? I hear you’re a junior and a year ahead and you might get your masters of Social Work! Did you know Susan finished in three years too? It’s so great!!!
Marshall went to Florida for Spring Break, at the same time as a big biker’s convention. What was it like? Did they all have tattoos?
This is Maggie and her boyfriend Mike on the camping trip Maggie describes in the following comment string. I’m including it with this post since we are talking about camping.
